I was kind of comparing Batman: Jazz to Slayers: The Hourglass of Falces, in which this guest mangaka made a story not only not very Slayers like in tone & style, but it wasn't about Lina & she didn't even need to be in it; she was injected as an observative character to advertise his own stuff. That also annoyed me with Slayers: Light Magic &, specifically Pokota from Revolution & Evolution-R. I came for Lina, not to watch her "assist" Marty Stu & Mary Sue characters in what sometimes basically amounts to published fanfiction, or the genuine author trying to pull a "son of Indiana Jones" by introducing a replacement character that needs to be trained by the aging original, or just basically writing an unrelated book & sticking a sellable character in it just to get it off the shelves, utterly disappointing the fanbase. Also, Slayers is really light on ecchi, so the art is unacceptable. All the whorishly dressed characters is series prior where always the buttmonkeys of the series. If I want to see a panchira parody of Slayers, I'll read Dragon Half.
